Sony themselves have heavily hinted that a remastered version of the PS3’s ‘Uncharted’ trilogy is on its way to our favourite console.
They did so via an image that was published on the official, European PlayStation blog site. The image can be seen below.
Whilst “Uncharted 3” is seen in the title section, the image is clearly from an ‘Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’ mission, involving Drake and Tenzin in the Himalayan mountain range solving puzzles and fighting Yetis *ahem*. This is clearly a PS4 layout, meaning that Uncharted gameplay has been captured on the PS4, and is being uploaded to YouTube using the new YouTube integration feature, which was introduced with PS4 update 2.0 earlier this week.
Although many predicted a remastered version of the Uncharted trilogy would appear on PS4 at some point before ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ releases, it is still a nice surprise for this to be hinted at by Sony themselves so early on. Is it possible that we will see the remastered trilogy as early as the first quarter of next year? Might we see ‘Uncharted: Golden Abyss’, the PS Vita launch title exclusive, make a home console debut? Only time will tell. It’s uncharted territory from here on out.
