If you haven’t yet pre ordered and feeling concerned as to whether you will be able to purchase a PS4, then you might be pleased to hear that SCE CEO Jack Tretton has confirmed that Sony will be holding back stock for launch day.
Speaking to Fox Business, Tretton said:
“We want to make sure that consumers have an opportunity to buy one on November 15 and through the holidays.”
“We’re holding back some inventory to make sure that people have an opportunity to buy one that come in on launch day,”
It is however important to note that Tretton is addressing an American audience in this instance, so whether the same applies to other regions is not clear.
He refused to state exactly how many pre-orders Sony has acquired, but it is known that there have been over one million to date. Jack said that Sony could sell every PS4 they create adding that “production yields have been phenomenal”. Whether this means Sony will be able to cope with the staggering demand is yet to be seen. Basically, play it safe and pre order yours now!
