It’s been known in the industry that whilst Guerilla Games were working on Killzone: Shadow Fall, they were also working on a brand new IP for PlayStation 4. But before I talk about that, it’s worth noting just how successful Killzone was, it almost achieved a 50% attach rate with PS4 owners. When put into context, by the end of 2013 Sony has sold 4.2 million PS4 systems, meaning nearly 2.1 million copies of the game were bought by consumers. But, many of these PS4 owners got the game as part of a bundle which in most cases meant that the game was effectively sold at a discounted price. Also some territories were only selling Killzone: Shadow Fall bundles and didn’t offer standalone PS4 packages, so will Guerilla’s next title be anywhere near as successful?
Nevertheless, today via Twitter, well known Industry insider, Tidux shared some interesting details about it.
Firstly, Tidux revealed that Guerrilla Games are all set to reveal this new IP for Playstation 4. “Guerrilla Games are ready, are you? #PS4” tweeted Tidux.
When asked by a follower whether the announcement will be made at E3 2014: “and they are coming with it at E3 2014???” Tidux replied:
When he was asked ‘how does it look on PS4?’ He confirmed that it runs at
“1080p and looks Amazing.”
It’s evident that Sony are keeping their cards closed to their chest when it comes to details regarding E3 2014, but thanks to these industry insiders you can expect to get small snippets of information on what we can expect to see at Sony’s highly anticipated E3 conference.
Tidux has a good track record of leaking information before its official announcement, he previously leaked information about PS4 OS and UI accurately. So you can be pretty certain that at least one PS4 title will be revealed next month, but what else will be shown? 31 days to go until the expo begins…
