Next Saturday Spike TV will be broadcasting the VGX (formerly known as the Video Game Awards) to cable viewers and the millions who tune in every year to watch the free livestream online. Host Geoff Keighley continues to tease about the upcoming content that will be showcased at the awards but has previously mentioned there will be a lot of next-gen content this year.
This year the awards will be taking a more gamer focussed approach, ditching the previous convention of having Hollywood stars to present each award. The show will feature a more personal space in which game developers get to speak about their titles much like the PS4 launch event that Spike also hosted two weeks ago.
It’s worth nothing that all the Uncharted games and The Last of Us had their world premières at the Video Game Awards and with the arrival of PS4, you can expect studios who are yet to announce their PS4 titles to finally reveal their secret projects.
